Transportation from Zagreb Airport (Franjo Tuđman Airport) to the City Center

Zagreb Airport is located approximately 17 km from the city center. There are several transportation options available:

  • Airport Shuttle: The official airport shuttle (Pleso Prijevoz) departs regularly from the airport and drops passengers at the Zagreb Central Bus Station. The journey takes about 30 minutes and costs 8 EUR.
  • Taxi: Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals terminal. The trip to the city center typically takes around 25-30 minutes, depending on traffic, and costs approximately 25-30 EUR.
  • Ride-Sharing: Uber and Bolt are available in Zagreb and can be used for transportation from the airport to the city center.

Getting Around Zagreb

Zagreb has an efficient public transport system (ZET) that includes trams and buses (see more information on ZET website). Here are some key points:

  • Trams: The city’s tram network is extensive and reliable. Trams run from early morning until midnight, and tickets can be purchased in the tram, at newsstands or via the Zagreb Tram app. Night trams and buses are available according the schedule (ride approx.every hour) covering the whole city transport network.
  • Buses: Buses complement the tram network and provide transport to areas not served by trams.
  • Walking: The conference venue is in the city center, making walking a convenient option for exploring the area. Most of Zagreb’s attractions are within walking distance of the venue.
  • Biking: Zagreb has a public bike-sharing system called Nextbike. You can easily rent a bike through the Nextbike app.

Weather in November

November in Zagreb is typically cool, with average daytime temperatures ranging between 5°C and 12°C. We recommend packing a warm coat, as evenings can be chilly. Rain is also possible, so an umbrella might come in handy.

Local Currency

The currency in Croatia is the Euro (EUR). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s a good idea to have some cash for smaller purchases, especially in markets or smaller shops and cafes. It is advisable to announce payment by card in advance.
